Sunday 30 April 9:00-4:00 Four Railways Walk and Ride

You will discover the history and delights of four railways and, what’s more, it’s 50 years to the day since the closure of the C&HPR. You will ride on the Steeple Grange Light Railway, Derwent Valley and Ecclesbourne Valley Railway. It is a real ‘feet and seat’ experience walking to, and riding on the operating railways, Walk approx.. 4 miles. Bring a packed lunch.

Friday 12 May 7pm – 8:45 pm: C&HPR Slide Talk

It is 50 years since the closure of this historic and unique railway and this slide talk will delight you with the locos, tracks, inclines and stories
of the workers. You’ll also be brought up to date with the route and its use as the High Peak Trail. Join Andy Pollock and Rick Jillings for this not to be missed evening.

SPECIAL TRAIN.  A celebratory train to follow the timetable of the final passenger train in 1947 returning triumphantly as ‘the lost return to Wirksworth’.
